Patio Shades And Giving Well-Planned Cook-outs

If you are thinking of holding a party or other event in your backyard, consider adding outdoor patio shades. It is true that people like to feel the warmth of the sun on their skin, but excessive exposure is usually not desirable, and many people are quite sensitive to sun.

A party is not the same without a barbeque grill. But one disadvantage of the grill is that it gives off fabric-staining fumes and smoke. This exhaust can stain the fabric of your expensive shades. Be sure to grill a little bit aways from both the guests and the shades.

Outdoor shades suitable for parties come in a variety of types, styles, sizes and configurations. Picking the right one depends on how big your backyard or patio is, and how many guests you would like to cover.

Awnings remain a common thing to see for most people who have taken a stroll on a sidewalk arrayed with shops. They are the fixed-structure shades that shield store entry ways and display glasses. Unlike store front awnings, the units for private residents are built for entertainment and comfort of customers. The most recent type is the retractable model. There are a number of retractables. One is opened with a manual mechanism. Another uses a lateral swing-open configuration which is pushed in or drawn out. Finally the motorized types automatically open at a push of a button.

An outdoor canopy is essentially a tent with standing room. The configuration a consumer usually finds at a store is a tall self-supporting metallic frame covered by a large piece of shade fabric. The shade fabric invariably is stretched over the top to block out direct sunlight but the walls are sometimes left off, a decision that hinges on whether one would like to give up a little privacy for a breath of fresh air. Supposing one attaches walls to the canopy, small cut-out window portholes and entry ways will solve concerns with stuffy air under the canopy.

A pergola is an atypical wooden outdoor shade lacking fabric but is supported by four or more beams in a rectangular layout. Without shade cloth, it uses the wood beams that provide partial shade and incomplete sun. Pergolas are found arching over patios and occasionally in gardens. An undersized variant of a pergola is sometimes called an arbor. Arbors have been installed as entry points to garden paths.

Everyone would like to have a beautiful green lawn and lush garden but finding the kind of time it takes to properly care for the plants and grass can be difficult. Pruning bushes, mowing grass and pulling weeds takes time and it can be difficult work. People who want a beautiful lawn without the hassle can rely on a local gardening company to provide the services needed.

Professionals will always have the right tools necessary to do the job. They will make sure the equipment is in good working condition and all blades are sharp so they will not damage the plants. Working with inferior equipment will only cost more when plants have to be replaced or the work has to be done again.

Plant selection and placement are important because some species will not thrive in certain geographical areas. Some plants need to be placed where they get lots of sunlight while others can grow with filtered light. An expert in garden care will know all about what kind of plants to suggest and when they should be placed in the ground. Someone with experience will know how to prepare the soil to get the best results when planting.

Professional landscaping designers can help homeowners update the look of any yard with suggestions for improvements. Having an outdoor deck or patio installed provides additional living space. This type of improvement will increase property values when done professionally.

Water features like fountains and ponds add movement and the soothing sounds of running water to the environment. A trained professional will have the skills necessary to set up a water feature and take care of the maintenance necessary to keep it looking good.

An established gardening service will employ professionals who are capable of designing, installing and maintaining any outdoor environment. Finding a reliable service allows homeowners to enjoy the outdoor space while leaving the work to the experts.

How To Open Your Above Ground Pool

Every spring brings that time: time to open your above ground pool for the swimming season of summer. It has been a cold, hard winter, and it feels like so long ago that your pool was open and the water was glistening. This easy guide will get your above ground pool open and going in no time at all.

1. Begin by siphoning off any water that may be laying atop the pool’s cover. if you plan to use an electric suck pump, it is a good idea to put a plastic frisbee or similar item between the pump and the cover.

2. Carefully remove any fallen items and other debris from the top of the cover.

3. Disconnect and take off the cover cable from the ratchet.

4. Take off any cover clips and water tubes.

5. Remove the cover slowly. Be careful not to let any debris that is atop the cover slip into the pool as you pull the cover off.

6. Take off the pillow by detaching its string. Deflate the pillow.

7. Take out any leaves and sticks or other debris from the pool with a skimmer or a leaf net.

8. Expect the water level to be low. This occurs due to ice, evaporation, and water displacement.

9. The water level may be low. Add more. It is important that the level of the water be at half-skimmer. This will be the water level to maintain throughout the pool season.

10. Check your skimmer, pump, and filter to make sure that they are in proper working condition.

11. Install your pump onto its base. Secure it with two pump mounting screws.

12. Attach your pump’s ground wire.

13. Set the filter onto the base.

14. Check to be sure that all rubber o-rings are lubricated and not worn out.

15. Tightly attach the union between the pump and the filter.

16. Securely connect the filter hose from the skimmer to the pump.

17. If you will be using a chlorinator, connect the return hose from the filter to the chlorinator. Then, connect the return hose to the outlet.

18. Make sure that all hose clamps are securely attached.

19. Be sure that the lid cover on the pump is secured tightly.

20. Use the removal tool to take off the winter plug from the return fitting. Then take off the aquadoor, or ice-plate, from the skimmer.

21. Be certain that every screw on the skimmer is tightened.

22. Attach the eyeball return fitting. Be certain that the fitting parts are all assembled before installing. Once they are installed, remember to point the fitting at a downward angle.

23. Attach the skimmer basket and skimmer weir.

24. If your pool if in or against a deck, insert the ladder into the flanges on the deck’s surface. If your pool does not have a deck, install an A-frame ladder. If you plan to use drop-in stairs, first put sandbags into the stair unit, then put the stairs into the water until they are fully submerged. Insert the handrail into the flange of the deck or stairs.

25. Check to be certain that each electrical connection is grounded.

26. Power on your filter system.

27. If you use a DE filter, insert the necessary amount of DE. Expect to ‘bump’ your filter several times during the first 24 hours of usage.

28. If you have a cartridge filter, make sure to install the filter cartridge.

29. If you use a sand filter, be certain that your drain plug is in the tank. Make sure that your filter is properly filled with filter sand. You should replace the filter sand at least every two years.

30. Backwash the filter.

31. Power the pump off.

32. Move the the handle of the valve to the position marked ‘filter’ and turn the pump on.

33. Don’t vacuum your pool for at least 24 hours.

That is all. You may now swim in your pool. Have fun and enjoy the water.

The Polaris Vac-Sweep 65 automatic above ground pool vacuum is one of the most versatile and dependent pool cleaners available. Polaris is renown for their top-of-the-line pool cleaning products, and they don’t disappoint with the Vac-Sweep 65. This pool vacuum is designed to vacuum all above ground pools with a depth of up to five feet. It works as well on slanted and dished bottoms as it does on flat bottoms.

You may pay just a little more for the Vac-Sweep 65 than you would for one of the other popular above ground pool vacuums, such as the Baracuda Ranger or the Aquabug, but the Polaris Vac-Sweep 65 is the most solid and dependable above ground pool vacuums. That little extra price will take you much further as this product will far outlive the lifespan of its competitors.

It is the only above ground pool vacuum that utilizes a patented Jet Sweep technology that works by forcing water against the pool sides to loosen debris from hard-to-reach places, then sweeping the loosened dirt into a filter bag. This filter bag is removable and easy to detach. At the end of the vacuum’s cleaning cycle, when you remove it from your pool, you simply detach the filter bag and empty it in a convenient location. The most outstanding part of this style of filter bag is that it removes the large particles and contains it so that it does not reach your pump basket or filter, thus prolonging the life of your filtration system.

This amazing above ground pool vacuum is powered by the pressure of clean water returning to your pool. This leaves both the filter and the skimmer free to eliminate contaminants while the vacuum works hard to clean the bottom and sides of your pool.

Pros:

It cleans both the bottom and the sides of your above ground pool.

With its sleek design, this is definitely one of the best looking above ground pool vacuums.

It prolongs the life of your pump and filter because of its unique filter bag, which removes debris before it reaches the filter.

Cons:

This vacuum has only one con. Occasionally it may tangle itself in its hose. This does not happen often, but if it ever does, it can easily be freed by hand.

The Polaris Vac-Sweep 65 is ideal for pool owners that want to to get rid of their old cleaners and start using the most trusted brand of all pool cleaners. It is especially recommended for owners whose pool is under or close to trees and shrubs that tend to drop twigs, leaves, acorns, pine needles, or any large particles into the pool because it is easily one of the best vacuums for picking up large objects.
