How To Grow Fruit The Easy Way
You’ve seen the increase in food prices lately haven’t you? In most cases you’re trying to save money as much as you can but it’s tough. Learning how to grow fruit in your home can help you save money and feed your family. It’s also a fun activity to have the kids help with as it will teach them skills they may need in the future.
Growing fruit is a little different from growing vegetables. Vegetables usually grow underground whereas fruit grows on trees. Being out in the open leaves fruit vulnerable to airborne insects that like to burrow into things. As you can see this is a little bit of a nuisance.
In order to grow fruit you need sunlight and water. You can use artificial light but it may not work as well. It will work but everything grows better in natural light. You will also need some good soil to grow in.
Let’s say you want to grow tomatoes. Everyone loves tomatoes so it’s a good choice. You need a big chest or pot of dirt. Really anything can be used to grow fruits or veggies in just so long as it can hold dirt.
After you have your pot of dirt you plant the seed. Then you water according to the instructions you received with the seed. After a few weeks if you do your job right, and provide it with adequate light the plant should be visible on top of the pot. You harvest the produce when it’s ripe.
In the event you don’t do your job right the plant will whither and die. But if you can get it right you’ll be able to grow your own tomatoes. That can save you some money at the store. Plus you know where it’s been. There is something to be said for growing your own food. It gives you a sense of being able to provide for yourself no matter what the economy does.
